Jeremiah 5:9-11
Good News Translation

9 Shouldn't I punish them for these things
    and take revenge on a nation such as this?
10 I will send enemies to cut down my people's vineyards,
    but not to destroy them completely.
I will tell them to strip away the branches,
    because those branches are not mine.
11 The people of Israel and Judah
    have betrayed me completely.
I, the Lord, have spoken.”

9 Should I not punish them for this?”(A)
    declares the Lord.
“Should I not avenge(B) myself
    on such a nation as this?

10 “Go through her vineyards and ravage them,
    but do not destroy them completely.(C)
Strip off her branches,
    for these people do not belong to the Lord.
11 The people of Israel and the people of Judah
    have been utterly unfaithful(D) to me,”
declares the Lord.
