²⁹ “We have heard of Moab’s pride^(A)—
    how great is her arrogance!—
of her insolence, her pride, her conceit
    and the haughtiness^(B) of her heart.

“For three sins of Moab,^(A)
    even for four, I will not relent.
Because he burned to ashes^(B)
    the bones of Edom’s king,

³ The pride^(A) of your heart has deceived you,
    you who live in the clefts of the rocks^[a](B)
    and make your home on the heights,
you who say to yourself,
    ‘Who can bring me down to the ground?’^(C)
4 Though you soar like the eagle
    and make your nest^(D) among the stars,
    from there I will bring you down,”^(E)
