Jeremiah 44:6-8

6 (A)Therefore my wrath and my anger were poured out and kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, (B)and they became a waste and a desolation, as at this day. 7 And now thus says the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel: Why do you commit this great evil (C)against yourselves, to cut off from you (D)man and woman, (E)infant and child, from the midst of Judah, leaving you no remnant? 8 (F)Why do you provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, (G)making offerings to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have come to live, so that you may be cut off and become (H)a curse and a taunt among all the nations of the earth?

6 Therefore, my fierce anger was poured out;(A) it raged against the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem and made them the desolate ruins(B) they are today.
7 “Now this is what the Lord God Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Why bring such great disaster(C) on yourselves by cutting off from Judah the men and women,(D) the children and infants, and so leave yourselves without a remnant?(E) 8 Why arouse my anger with what your hands have made,(F) burning incense(G) to other gods in Egypt,(H) where you have come to live?(I) You will destroy yourselves and make yourselves a curse[a] and an object of reproach(J) among all the nations on earth.
