27 (A)Behold, I am watching over them for disaster and not for good. (B)All the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by famine, until there is an end of them. 28 (C)And those who escape the sword shall return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah, (D)few in number; and all the remnant of Judah, who came to the land of Egypt to live, (E)shall know whose word will stand, mine or theirs. 29 This shall be the sign to you, declares the Lord, that I will punish you in this place, in order that you may know that (F)my words will surely stand against you for harm:

27 For I am watching(A) over them for harm,(B) not for good; the Jews in Egypt will perish(C) by sword and famine(D) until they are all destroyed.(E) 28 Those who escape the sword(F) and return to the land of Judah from Egypt will be very few.(G) Then the whole remnant(H) of Judah who came to live in Egypt will know whose word will stand(I)—mine or theirs.(J)

29 “‘This will be the sign(K) to you that I will punish(L) you in this place,’ declares the Lord, ‘so that you will know that my threats of harm against you will surely stand.’(M)
