Jeremiah 40:2-4
Holman Christian Standard Bible
2 The captain of the guard took Jeremiah and said to him, “The Lord your God decreed this disaster on this place,(A) 3 and the Lord has fulfilled it. He has done just what He decreed. Because you people have sinned against the Lord(B) and have not obeyed Him, this thing has happened. 4 Now pay attention: Today I am setting you free from the chains that were on your hands.(C) If it pleases you to come with me to Babylon, come, and I will take care of you. But if it seems wrong to you to come with me to Babylon, go no farther.[a] Look—the whole land is in front of you.(D) Wherever it seems good and right for you to go, go there.”

Jeremiah 40:2-4
New International Version
2 When the commander(A) of the guard found Jeremiah, he said to him, “The Lord your God decreed(B) this disaster(C) for this place.(D) 3 And now the Lord has brought it about; he has done just as he said he would. All this happened because you people sinned(E) against the Lord and did not obey(F) him. 4 But today I am freeing(G) you from the chains(H) on your wrists. Come with me to Babylon, if you like, and I will look after you; but if you do not want to, then don’t come. Look, the whole country lies before you; go wherever you please.”(I)
