⁴ Then the ^(A)officials said to the king, “Now let this man be put to death, inasmuch as he is ^(B)making the hands of the men of war who remain in this city as well as the hands of all the people limp, by speaking such words to them; for this man ^(C)is not seeking peace for this people but rather calamity.”

¹¹ Then they secretly induced men to say, “We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.” ¹² And they stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes, and they ^(A)came up to him, dragged him away, and brought him to ^(B)the Sanhedrin. ¹³ And they put forward ^(C)false witnesses who said, “This man never ceases speaking words against this ^(D)holy place and the Law; ¹⁴ for we have heard him say that ^(E)this Jesus the Nazarene will destroy this place and alter ^(F)the customs which Moses handed down to us.”
