The Rechabites Commended
35 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the days of King Jehoiakim son of Josiah of Judah: 2 Go to the house of the Rechabites, and speak with them, and bring them to the house of the Lord, into one of the chambers; then offer them wine to drink. 3 So I took Jaazaniah son of Jeremiah son of Habazziniah, and his brothers, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites. 4 I brought them to the house of the Lord into the chamber of the sons of Hanan son of Igdaliah, the man of God, which was near the chamber of the officials, above the chamber of Maaseiah son of Shallum, keeper of the threshold. 5 Then I set before the Rechabites pitchers full of wine, and cups; and I said to them, “Have some wine.” 6 But they answered, “We will drink no wine, for our ancestor Jonadab son of Rechab commanded us, ‘You shall never drink wine, neither you nor your children; 7 nor shall you ever build a house, or sow seed; nor shall you plant a vineyard, or even own one; but you shall live in tents all your days, that you may live many days in the land where you reside.’ 8 We have obeyed the charge of our ancestor Jonadab son of Rechab in all that he commanded us, to drink no wine all our days, ourselves, our wives, our sons, or our daughters, 9 and not to build houses to live in. We have no vineyard or field or seed; 10 but we have lived in tents, and have obeyed and done all that our ancestor Jonadab commanded us. 11 But when King Nebuchadrezzar of Babylon came up against the land, we said, ‘Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans and the army of the Arameans.’ That is why we are living in Jerusalem.”
12 Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 13 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Go and say to the people of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Can you not learn a lesson and obey my words? says the Lord. 14 The command has been carried out that Jonadab son of Rechab gave to his descendants to drink no wine; and they drink none to this day, for they have obeyed their ancestor’s command. But I myself have spoken to you persistently, and you have not obeyed me. 15 I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, sending them persistently, saying, “Turn now every one of you from your evil way, and amend your doings, and do not go after other gods to serve them, and then you shall live in the land that I gave to you and your ancestors.” But you did not incline your ear or obey me. 16 The descendants of Jonadab son of Rechab have carried out the command that their ancestor gave them, but this people has not obeyed me. 17 Therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: I am going to bring on Judah and on all the inhabitants of Jerusalem every disaster that I have pronounced against them; because I have spoken to them and they have not listened, I have called to them and they have not answered.
18 But to the house of the Rechabites Jeremiah said: Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the command of your ancestor Jonadab, and kept all his precepts, and done all that he commanded you, 19 therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Jonadab son of Rechab shall not lack a descendant to stand before me for all time.

Così ci siamo stabiliti a Gerusalemme».
12 (B)Allora la parola del Signore fu rivolta a Geremia in questi termini: 13 «Così parla il Signore degli eserciti, Dio d’Israele: Va’ e di’ agli uomini di Giuda e agli abitanti di Gerusalemme: “Non riceverete voi dunque la lezione, imparando a ubbidire alle mie parole?”, dice il Signore. 14 “Le parole di Ionadab, figlio di Recab, che comandò ai suoi figli di non bere vino, sono state messe in pratica, ed essi fino a oggi non hanno bevuto vino, in ubbidienza all’ordine del padre loro. Io vi ho parlato, parlato fin dal mattino, e voi non mi avete dato ascolto; 15 ho continuato a mandarvi ogni mattina tutti i miei servitori, i profeti, per dirvi: ‘Convertitevi ciascuno dalla sua via malvagia, cambiate comportamento; non andate dietro ad altri dèi per servirli, e abiterete nel paese che ho dato a voi e ai vostri padri’, ma voi non avete prestato orecchio e non mi avete ubbidito. 16 Sì, i figli di Ionadab, figlio di Recab, hanno messo in pratica l’ordine dato dal padre loro, ma questo popolo non mi ha ubbidito!” 17 Perciò così parla il Signore, Dio degli eserciti, Dio d’Israele: “Ecco, io faccio venire su Giuda e su tutti gli abitanti di Gerusalemme tutto il male che ho pronunciato contro di loro, perché ho parlato loro ed essi non hanno ascoltato; perché li ho chiamati ed essi non hanno risposto”».
18 Alla casa dei Recabiti Geremia disse: «Così parla il Signore degli eserciti, Dio d’Israele: “Poiché avete ubbidito all’ordine di Ionadab, vostro padre, e avete osservato tutti i suoi precetti e avete fatto tutto quello che egli vi aveva prescritto, 19 così parla il Signore degli eserciti, Dio d’Israele: ‘A Ionadab, figlio di Recab, non verranno mai a mancare discendenti che stiano davanti alla mia faccia’”».

35 Das Wort, welches in den Tagen Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, vom Herrn an Jeremia erging, lautete folgendermaßen:
2 Geh zum Haus der Rechabiter und rede mit ihnen und führe sie ins Haus des Herrn, in eine der Kammern, und gib ihnen Wein zu trinken!
3 Da nahm ich Jaasanja, den Sohn Jeremias, des Sohnes Habazinjas, samt seinen Brüdern und allen seinen Söhnen und dem ganzen Haus der Rechabiter,
4 und ich führte sie in das Haus des Herrn, zur Kammer der Söhne Hanans, des Sohnes Jigdaljas, des Mannes Gottes, die neben der Kammer der Fürsten, oberhalb der Kammer Maasejas, des Sohnes Schallums, des Türhüters, lag.
5 Und ich setzte den Söhnen des Hauses der Rechabiter Krüge voll Wein und Becher vor und sprach zu ihnen: Trinkt Wein!
6 Da sprachen sie: Wir trinken keinen Wein, denn Jonadab, der Sohn Rechabs, unser Vater, hat uns geboten und gesagt: »Ihr sollt keinen Wein trinken, weder ihr noch eure Kinder, ewiglich;
7 ihr sollt auch kein Haus bauen, keine Saat bestellen, keinen Weinberg pflanzen noch besitzen, sondern euer Leben lang in Zelten wohnen, damit ihr lange lebt in dem Land, in dem ihr als Fremdlinge wohnt!«
8 So gehorchen wir nun der Stimme unseres Vaters Jonadab, des Sohnes Rechabs, in allem, was er uns befohlen hat, und trinken keinen Wein alle unsere Tage, weder wir, noch unsere Frauen, noch unsere Söhne, noch unsere Töchter;
9 wir bauen auch keine Häuser, um darin zu wohnen, und besitzen weder Weinberg noch Acker und Saat,
10 sondern wir wohnen in Zelten und sind gehorsam und befolgen alles, was uns unser Vater Jonadab geboten hat.
11 Als aber Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, ins Land heraufzog, da sprachen wir: »Kommt, lasst uns vor dem Heer der Chaldäer und vor dem Heer der Aramäer nach Jerusalem ziehen!« Und so wohnen wir jetzt in Jerusalem.
12 Da erging das Wort des Herrn an Jeremia folgendermaßen:
13 So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Geh und sage zu den Männern Judas und zu den Einwohnern von Jerusalem: Wollt ihr euch das nicht zur Lehre nehmen, dass ihr meinen Worten gehorcht?, spricht der Herr.
14 Die Worte Jonadabs, des Sohnes Rechabs, die er seinen Kindern geboten hat, nämlich, dass sie keinen Wein trinken sollen, die werden gehalten; denn sie trinken keinen Wein bis zu diesem Tag und gehorchen so dem Gebot ihres Vaters. Ich aber habe zu euch geredet, indem ich mich früh aufmachte und [immer wieder] redete, und ihr habt mir nicht gehorcht!
15 Und doch habe ich alle meine Knechte, die Propheten, zu euch gesandt, indem ich mich früh aufmachte und sie [immer wieder] sandte, und habe euch sagen lassen: Kehrt doch um, jeder von seinem bösen Weg, und bessert eure Taten, und folgt nicht anderen Göttern nach, um ihnen zu dienen, dann sollt ihr in dem Land bleiben, das ich euch und euren Vätern gegeben habe! Aber ihr habt eure Ohren nicht geneigt und nicht auf mich gehört.
16 Weil denn die Söhne Jonadabs, des Sohnes Rechabs, das Gebot ihres Vaters gehalten haben, das er ihnen gegeben hat, dieses Volk aber mir nicht gehorsam gewesen ist,
17 darum spricht der Herr, der Gott der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich bringe über Juda und über die Bewohner von Jerusalem all das Unheil, das ich gegen sie geredet habe, weil sie nicht hören wollten, als ich zu ihnen redete, und nicht antworteten, als ich ihnen rief!
18 Aber zum Haus der Rechabiter sprach Jeremia: So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Weil ihr dem Gebot eures Vaters Jonadab gehorcht und alle seine Gebote bewahrt und nach allem gehandelt habt, was er euch geboten hat,
19 darum spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Es soll Jonadab, dem Sohn Rechabs, nie an einem Mann fehlen, der vor mir steht!

35 Az Örökkévaló szava érkezett hozzám Jójákimnak, Júda királyának, Jósiás fiának uralkodása idején: 2 „Jeremiás, menj a rékábiak[a] családjához, szólj nekik, és hívd őket az Örökkévaló házának egyik szobájába! Ott ültesd le, és kínáld meg őket borral!”
3 El is mentem Jaazanjához[b], aki Jirmejá fia, aki Habaccinjá fia volt, majd vele, a testvéreivel és összes fiaival — a rékábiak egész nemzetségével — együtt 4 fölmentünk az Örökkévaló házába. Behívtam őket Hánán, (Igdalja fia) tanítványainak a szobájába. Hánán az Isten embere volt. Ez a szoba a vezetők szobája mellett, és Maaszéjának, Sallum fiának, az ajtóőrnek szobája fölött helyezkedett el. 5 Leültettem a rékábiakat és borral kínáltam őket. Bár én vagyok az Örökkévaló, és szóltam hozzátok újra meg újra, ti mégsem hallgattatok a szavamra, és nem engedelmeskedtetek! 15 Elküldtem hozzátok szolgáimat, a prófétákat, idejében és kitartóan küldtem őket, hogy figyelmeztesselek benneteket: »Változtassátok meg gonosz életmódotokat, jobbítsátok meg tetteiteket, ne imádjatok és ne szolgáljatok más isteneket, hogy lakhassatok azon a földön, amelyet őseiteknek és nektek adtam.« De nem hallgattatok szavamra, és nem engedelmeskedtetek. 16 Lám, Jónádábnak, Rékáb fiának a leszármazottjai szót fogadtak ősapjuk parancsának, de ez a nép nem hallgatott a szavamra, és nem engedelmeskedett.
17 Ezért azt mondja az Örökkévaló, a Seregek Ura, Izráel Istene: Nézzétek! Rázúdítom Júdára és Jeruzsálem összes lakosaira mindazt a veszedelmet, amellyel már korábban megfenyegettem őket. Így bánok velük, mivel szóltam hozzájuk, de nem hallgattak rám, hívtam őket, de nem feleltek.”

3 Je pris donc Yaazania, fils de Jérémie, petit-fils de Habatsinia, les hommes de sa parenté, tous ses fils et tous les Rékabites. 4 Je les emmenai au temple de l’Eternel, dans la salle assignée aux disciples de Hanân, fils de Yigdalia, l’homme de Dieu. Cette salle se trouve à côté de la salle des dirigeants, au-dessus de la chambre de Maaséya, fils de Shalloum, le gardien du seuil. 5 Je plaçai devant les Rékabites des bols remplis de vin ainsi que des coupes, et je les invitai à boire. 6 Mais ils me dirent : Nous ne boirons pas de vin car Yonadab[c], fils de Rékab, notre ancêtre, nous a donné ces ordres : « Vous ne boirez jamais de vin, ni vous, ni vos descendants, à perpétuité. 7 Vous ne construirez pas de maisons, vous ne cultiverez pas la terre, vous ne planterez pas de vignes et vous n’en posséderez pas ; pendant toute votre vie, vous habiterez sous des tentes, afin que vous viviez longtemps sur la terre où vous n’êtes que des étrangers. »
8 Nous avons donc obéi à tous les ordres de Yonadab, fils de Rékab, notre ancêtre, de sorte que nous ne buvons jamais de vin, nous, nos femmes, nos fils et nos filles. 9 Nous ne construisons pas de maisons pour y habiter, nous ne possédons ni vigne, ni champ et nous ne faisons pas de semailles ; 10 nous habitons sous des tentes. 12 Alors l’Eternel adressa la parole à Jérémie en ces termes : 13 Voici ce que déclare le Seigneur des armées célestes, Dieu d’Israël : Va dire aux gens de Juda et aux habitants de Jérusalem : Ne retiendrez-vous pas cette leçon pour écouter mes paroles ? dit l’Eternel. 14 Les descendants de Yonadab, fils de Rékab, ont respecté les ordres que leur ancêtre leur a donnés : il leur avait défendu de boire du vin et ils n’en ont jamais bu jusqu’à ce jour, pour se conformer à l’ordre de leur ancêtre. Et moi, je n’ai cessé de vous parler, mais vous ne m’avez pas obéi. 15 Je vous ai envoyé sans me lasser, tous mes serviteurs les prophètes pour vous dire : « Abandonnez votre conduite mauvaise, faites le bien, cessez de courir après d’autres dieux pour leur rendre un culte, et vous demeurerez dans le pays que je vous ai donné, à vous comme à vos ancêtres. » Mais vous n’avez pas prêté attention et ne m’avez pas écouté. 16 Les descendants de Yonadab, fils de Rékab, ont obéi aux ordres de leur ancêtre, mais ce peuple ne m’a pas écouté.
17 C’est pourquoi voici ce que déclare l’Eternel, le Dieu des armées célestes, Dieu d’Israël : Je vais faire venir sur Juda et sur tous les habitants de Jérusalem tous les malheurs dont je les ai menacés, parce que je leur ai parlé et qu’ils n’ont pas écouté ; je les ai appelés, et ils n’ont pas répondu.
18 Puis, Jérémie dit aux Rékabites : Voici ce que déclare le Seigneur des armées célestes, Dieu d’Israël : Parce que vous avez obéi aux ordres de Yonadab, votre ancêtre, que vous les avez exécutés et que vous avez fait tout ce qu’il vous a ordonné, 19 à cause de cela, voici ce que déclare le Seigneur des armées célestes, Dieu d’Israël : Yonadab, fils de Rékab, ne manquera jamais de descendants qui se tiennent tous les jours en ma présence.
