15 And I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, I have sent them over and over again,[a] saying,[b] ‘Turn back please each one from his evil way, and amend your deeds, and you must not go after other gods to serve them, so that you may live[c] on the land that I gave to you and to your ancestors.’[d] But you did not incline your ear and you did not listen to me. 16 For the descendants[e] of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, have carried out the command of their ancestor[f] that he commanded them, but this people did not listen to me.”

17 Therefore[g] thus says Yahweh, the God of hosts, the God of Israel, “Look, I am going to bring to Judah and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem every disaster that I have spoken against them, because I have spoken to them and they have not listened, and I have called to them and they have not answered.”’”

15 Again and again I sent all my servants the prophets(A) to you. They said, “Each of you must turn(B) from your wicked ways and reform(C) your actions; do not follow other gods(D) to serve them. Then you will live in the land(E) I have given to you and your ancestors.” But you have not paid attention or listened(F) to me. 16 The descendants of Jehonadab son of Rekab have carried out the command their forefather(G) gave them, but these people have not obeyed me.’

17 “Therefore this is what the Lord God Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘Listen! I am going to bring on Judah and on everyone living in Jerusalem every disaster(H) I pronounced against them. I spoke to them, but they did not listen;(I) I called to them, but they did not answer.’”(J)
