² Now at that time the military force of the king of Babylon was besieging Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the ^(A)court of the guard, which was in the house of the king of Judah,

⁸ Then Hanamel my uncle’s son came to me in the ^(A)court of the guard according to the word of Yahweh and said to me, ‘Buy my field, please, that is at ^(B)Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for you have the legal judgment for possession, and the redemption is yours; buy it for yourself.’ Then I knew that this was the ^(C)word of Yahweh.

²¹ Then King Zedekiah gave commandment, and they committed Jeremiah to the ^(A)court of the guard and gave him a loaf of ^(B)bread daily from the bakers’ street, until all the bread in the city had ^(C)come to an end. So Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.

²⁸ So Jeremiah ^(A)stayed in the court of the guard until the day that Jerusalem was captured.
