³⁹ The ^(A)measuring line will go out farther, straight ahead to the hill Gareb; then it will turn to Goah.

³ So He brought me there; and behold, there was a man whose appearance was like the appearance of ^(A)bronze, with a ^(B)line of flax and a ^(C)measuring ^[a]rod in his hand; and he was standing in the gateway.

³ When the man went out toward the east with a line in his hand, he measured ^[a]one thousand cubits, and he had me pass through the water, water reaching the ankles.

¹⁶ Therefore thus says Yahweh, “I will ^(A)return to Jerusalem with compassion; My ^(B)house will be built in it,” declares Yahweh of hosts, “and a measuring ^(C)line will be stretched over Jerusalem.”’
