Jeremiah 31:38-40

³⁸^(A)“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when the city shall be rebuilt for the Lord ^(B)from the Tower of Hananel to ^(C)the Corner Gate. ³⁹^(D)And the measuring line shall go out farther, straight to the hill Gareb, and shall then turn to Goah. ⁴⁰^(E)The whole valley of the dead bodies and the ashes, and all the fields as far as the ^(F)brook Kidron, to the corner of ^(G)the Horse Gate toward the east, ^(H)shall be sacred to the Lord. ^(I)It shall not be plucked up or overthrown anymore forever.”

³⁸“Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when the ^(A)city will be rebuilt for the Lord from the ^(B)Tower of Hananel to the ^(C)Corner Gate. ³⁹The ^(D)measuring line will go out farther straight ahead, to the hill Gareb; then it will turn to Goah. ⁴⁰And ^(E)the entire valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the brook ^(F)Kidron to the corner of the ^(G)Horse Gate toward the east, shall be ^(H)holy to the Lord; it will not be uprooted or overthrown ever again.”

³⁸“The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when this city will be rebuilt^(A) for me from the Tower of Hananel^(B) to the Corner Gate.^(C) ³⁹The measuring line^(D) will stretch from there straight to the hill of Gareb and then turn to Goah. ⁴⁰The whole valley^(E) where dead bodies^(F) and ashes are thrown, and all the terraces out to the Kidron Valley^(G) on the east as far as the corner of the Horse Gate,^(H) will be holy^(I) to the Lord. The city will never again be uprooted or demolished.”
