A Call to Repentance

⁶ The Lord said also to me in the days of Josiah the king: “Have you seen what ^(A)backsliding Israel has done? She has ^(B)gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and there played the harlot.

³ and say, ‘O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God! Thus says the Lord God to the mountains, to the hills, to the ravines, and to the valleys: “Indeed I, even I, will bring a sword against you, and ^(A)I will destroy your ^[a]high places.

^16 (A)You took some of your garments and adorned multicolored ^[a]high places for yourself, and played the harlot on them. Such things should not happen, nor be.

²⁹ Then I said to them, ‘What is this ^[a]high place to which you go?’ So its name is called ^[b]Bamah to this day.” ’
