8 Any nation or kingdom that refuses to serve King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon or put its neck under his yoke will be punished with war, famine, and disease. I promise you I will destroy it, and My weapon will be the conquering hand of Nebuchadnezzar himself. 9 So do not listen to your false prophets, your fortunetellers, your dreamers, your mediums, or your sorcerers who tell you, “Do not worry, for you will never have to serve the king of Babylon.” 10 Their prophecies are lies that will only separate you from your lands, for I will take you far from your home—I will drive you out, and you will die there.

8 “‘“If, however, any nation or kingdom will not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon or bow its neck under his yoke, I will punish(A) that nation with the sword,(B) famine(C) and plague,(D) declares the Lord, until I destroy it by his hand. 9 So do not listen to your prophets,(E) your diviners,(F) your interpreters of dreams,(G) your mediums(H) or your sorcerers(I) who tell you, ‘You will not serve(J) the king of Babylon.’ 10 They prophesy lies(K) to you that will only serve to remove(L) you far from your lands; I will banish you and you will perish.
