³ and you shall send ^[a]word to the king of ^(A)Edom, to the king of ^(B)Moab, to the king of the sons of ^(C)Ammon, to the king of ^(D)Tyre, and to the king of ^(E)Sidon by the hand of messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.

Hananiah’s Rebellion Against Yahweh

28 Now it happened in the same year, ^(A)in the beginning of the reign of ^(B)Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, that ^(C)Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet, who was from ^(D)Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of Yahweh in the sight of the priests and all the people, saying,

¹⁷ Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, “Thus says Yahweh ^(A)God of hosts, the ^(B)God of Israel, ‘If you will indeed ^(C)go out to the ^[a]officers of the king of Babylon, then ^[b]you will live, this city will not be burned with fire, and you and your household will live.
