25 Ọ̀rọ̀ sì tọ Jeremiah wá nípa àwọn ènìyàn Juda ní ọdún kẹrin Jehoiakimu ọmọ Josiah ọba Juda, èyí tí ó jẹ́ ọdún kìn-ín-ní Nebukadnessari ọba Babeli. 2 Nítorí náà, Jeremiah wòlíì sọ fún gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn Juda àti sí àwọn olùgbé Jerusalẹmu. 3 Fún odidi ọdún mẹ́tàlélógún, bẹ̀rẹ̀ láti ọdún kẹtàlá Josiah, ọmọ Amoni ọba Juda, títí di ọjọ́ yìí, ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa sì tọ̀ mí wá, mo sì ti sọ ọ́ fún un yín láti ìgbà dé ìgbà, ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin kò fetísílẹ̀.
4 Bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé Olúwa ti rán gbogbo àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀, àwọn wòlíì sí i yín láti ìgbà dé ìgbà, ẹ̀yin kò fetísílẹ̀. 5 Wọ́n sì wí pé, “Ẹ yípadà olúkúlùkù yín kúrò ní inú ibi rẹ̀ àti ní ọ̀nà ibi rẹ̀, ẹ̀yin yóò sì lè dúró ní ilẹ̀ tí Ọlọ́run fún un yín àti àwọn baba yín títí láéláé. 6 Má ṣe tọ àwọn ọlọ́run mìíràn lẹ́yìn láti sìn wọ́n tàbí bọ wọ́n; ẹ má ṣe mú inú bí mi pẹ̀lú ohun tí ẹ ti fi ọwọ́ yín ṣe. Nígbà náà ni Èmi kò ní ṣe yín ní ibi.”
7 “Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin kò fetí sí mi,” ni Olúwa wí; “bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ẹ sì ti mú inú bí mi pẹ̀lú ohun tí ẹ fi ọwọ́ yín ṣe, ẹ sì ti mú ibi wá sórí ara yín.”
8 Nítorí náà, Ọlọ́run alágbára sọ èyí: “Nítorí wí pé ẹ̀yin kò fetí sí ọ̀rọ̀ mi, 9 Èmi yóò pe gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn àríwá, àti ìránṣẹ́ mi Nebukadnessari ọba Babeli,” ni Olúwa wí. “Èmi yóò sì mú wọn dìde lòdì sí ilẹ̀ náà àti àwọn olùgbé rẹ̀ àti sí gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè àyíká rẹ̀. Èmi yóò pa wọ́n run pátápátá, Èmi yóò sọ wọ́n di nǹkan ẹ̀rù àti yẹ̀yẹ́ àti ìparun ayérayé. 10 (A)Èmi yóò sì mú ìró ayọ̀ àti inú dídùn kúrò lọ́dọ̀ wọn; ohùn ìyàwó àti ọkọ ìyàwó, ìró ọlọ òkúta àti ìmọ́lẹ̀ fìtílà. 11 Gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè yìí yóò sì di ahoro, orílẹ̀-èdè yìí yóò sì sìn ọba Babeli ní àádọ́rin ọdún.
12 “Ṣùgbọ́n, nígbà tí àádọ́rin ọdún náà bá pé; Èmi yóò fi ìyà jẹ ọba Babeli àti orílẹ̀-èdè rẹ, ilẹ̀ àwọn ará Babeli nítorí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn,” ni Olúwa wí; “bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Èmi yóò sọ ọ́ di ahoro títí láé. 13 Èmi yóò sì mú gbogbo ohun tí mo ti sọ wọ̀nyí wá sórí ilẹ̀ náà, gbogbo ohun tí a ti sọ àní gbogbo èyí tí a ti kọ sínú ìwé yìí, èyí tí Jeremiah ti sọtẹ́lẹ̀ sí gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè. 14 Àwọn fúnrawọn yóò sì sin orílẹ̀-èdè púpọ̀ àti àwọn ọba ńlá. Èmi yóò sì sán fún oníkálùkù gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìṣe àti iṣẹ́ ọwọ́ wọn.”
Ago ìbínú Ọlọ́run
15 (B)Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run Israẹli wí fún mi: “Gba ago yìí ní ọwọ́ mí tí ó kún fún ọtí wáìnì ìbínú mi, kí o sì mú gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè ti mo rán ọ sí mu ún. 16 Nígbà tí wọ́n bá mu ún, wọn yóò ta gbọ̀nọ́ngbọ̀nọ́n: bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kí wọ́n di aṣiwèrè nítorí idà tí yóò ránṣẹ́ sí àárín wọn.” 17 Mo sì gba ago náà lọ́wọ́ Olúwa, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni mo sì mú gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè tí ó rán mi sí mu ún.
18 Jerusalẹmu àti àwọn ìlú Juda, àwọn ọba wọn pẹ̀lú àwọn aláṣẹ wọn, láti sọ wọ́n di ohun ìparun, ohun ẹ̀rù, ẹ̀sìn àti ègún, gẹ́gẹ́ bí wọ́n ti rí lónìí yìí.
19 Farao ọba Ejibiti, àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀, àwọn aláṣẹ rẹ̀ àti àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀. 20 Àti gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn àjèjì tí ó wà níbẹ̀;
gbogbo àwọn ọba Usi,
gbogbo àwọn ọba Filistini, gbogbo àwọn ti Aṣkeloni, Gasa, Ekroni àti gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn tí ó kù sí Aṣdodu.
21 Edomu, Moabu àti Ammoni;
22 gbogbo àwọn ọba Tire àti Sidoni;
gbogbo àwọn ọba erékùṣù wọ̀n-ọn-nì tí ń bẹ ní ìkọjá Òkun.
23 Dedani, Tema, Busi àti gbogbo àwọn tí ń gbé lọ́nà jíjìn réré.
24 Gbogbo àwọn ọba Arabia àti àwọn ọba àwọn àjèjì ènìyàn tí ń gbé inú aginjù.
25 Gbogbo àwọn ọba Simri, Elamu àti Media.
26 Àti gbogbo àwọn ọba àríwá ní tòsí àti lọ́nà jíjìn, ẹnìkínní lẹ́yìn ẹnìkejì; gbogbo àwọn ìjọba lórí orílẹ̀ ayé.
Àti gbogbo wọn, ọba Ṣeṣaki náà yóò sì mu.
27 “Nígbà náà, sọ fún wọn: Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run Alágbára Israẹli wí: Mu, kí o sì mú àmuyó kí o sì bì, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kí o sì ṣubú láì dìde mọ́ nítorí idà tí n ó rán sí àárín yín. 28 Ṣùgbọ́n bí wọ́n ba kọ̀ láti gba ago náà ní ọwọ́ rẹ kí wọ́n sì mu ún, sọ fún wọn pé, ‘Èyí ni ohun tí Ọlọ́run alágbára sọ: Ẹyin gbọdọ̀ mu ún! 29 Wò ó, èmi ń mú ibi bọ̀ sí orí orílẹ̀-èdè tí ó ń jẹ́ orúkọ mi; ǹjẹ́ yóò ha a lè lọ láìjìyà? Ẹ̀yin ń pe idà sọ̀kalẹ̀ sórí gbogbo àwọn olùgbé ayé, ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun sọ.’
30 “Nísinsin yìí, sọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀ àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí nípa wọn:
“ ‘Kí o sì sọ pé, Olúwa yóò bú láti òkè wá,
yóò sì bú kíkankíkan sí ilẹ̀ náà.
Yóò parí gbogbo olùgbé ayé, bí àwọn tí ń tẹ ìfúntí
31 Ìrọ́kẹ̀kẹ̀ yóò wà títí dé òpin ilẹ̀ ayé,
nítorí pé Olúwa yóò mú ìdààmú wá sí orí
àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè náà,
yóò mú ìdájọ́ wá sórí gbogbo ènìyàn,
yóò sì fi àwọn olùṣe búburú fún idà,’ ”
ni Olúwa wí.
32 Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí:
“Wò ó! Ibi ń tànkálẹ̀ láti orílẹ̀-èdè kan sí òmíràn;
Ìjì ńlá yóò sì ru sókè láti òpin ayé.”
33 Nígbà náà, àwọn tí Olúwa ti pa yóò wà ní ibi gbogbo, láti ìpẹ̀kun kan sí òmíràn. A kì yóò ṣọ̀fọ̀ wọn, a kì yóò kó wọn jọ tàbí sin wọ́n; ṣùgbọ́n wọn yóò dàbí ààtàn lórí ilẹ̀.
34 Ké, kí ẹ sì pohùnréré ẹkún
ẹ̀yin olùṣọ́-àgùntàn, ẹ yí nínú eruku,
ẹ̀yin olùdarí agbo ẹran,
nítorí pé ọjọ́ àti pa yín ti dé,
ẹ̀yin ó sì ṣubú bí ohun èlò iyebíye.
35 Àwọn olùṣọ́-àgùntàn kì yóò rí ibi sálọ
kì yóò sì ṣí àsálà fún olórí agbo ẹran.
36 Gbọ́ igbe àwọn olùṣọ́-àgùntàn,
àti ìpohùnréré ẹkún àwọn olórí
agbo ẹran; nítorí pé Olúwa ń pa pápá oko tútù wọn run.
37 Ibùgbé àlàáfíà yóò di ahoro,
nítorí ìbínú ńlá Olúwa.
38 Gẹ́gẹ́ bí kìnnìún yóò fi ibùba rẹ̀ sílẹ̀,
ilẹ̀ wọn yóò sì di ahoro, nítorí idà àwọn aninilára,
àti nítorí ìbínú ńlá Olúwa.

Seventy Years of Captivity
25 The word came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim(A) son of Josiah king of Judah, which was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar(B) king of Babylon. 2 So Jeremiah the prophet said to all the people of Judah(C) and to all those living in Jerusalem: 3 For twenty-three years—from the thirteenth year of Josiah(D) son of Amon king of Judah until this very day—the word of the Lord has come to me and I have spoken to you again and again,(E) but you have not listened.(F)
4 And though the Lord has sent all his servants the prophets(G) to you again and again, you have not listened or paid any attention.(H) 5 They said, “Turn(I) now, each of you, from your evil ways and your evil practices, and you can stay in the land(J) the Lord gave to you and your ancestors for ever and ever. 6 Do not follow other gods(K) to serve and worship them; do not arouse my anger with what your hands have made. Then I will not harm you.”
7 “But you did not listen to me,” declares the Lord, “and you have aroused(L) my anger with what your hands have made,(M) and you have brought harm(N) to yourselves.”
8 Therefore the Lord Almighty says this: “Because you have not listened to my words, 9 I will summon(O) all the peoples of the north(P) and my servant(Q) Nebuchadnezzar(R) king of Babylon,” declares the Lord, “and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy[a](S) them and make them an object of horror and scorn,(T) and an everlasting ruin.(U) 10 I will banish from them the sounds(V) of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom,(W) the sound of millstones(X) and the light of the lamp.(Y) 11 This whole country will become a desolate wasteland,(Z) and these nations will serve(AA) the king of Babylon seventy years.(AB)
12 “But when the seventy years(AC) are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon(AD) and his nation, the land of the Babylonians,[b] for their guilt,” declares the Lord, “and will make it desolate(AE) forever. 13 I will bring on that land all the things I have spoken against it, all that are written(AF) in this book and prophesied by Jeremiah against all the nations. 14 They themselves will be enslaved(AG) by many nations(AH) and great kings; I will repay(AI) them according to their deeds and the work of their hands.”
The Cup of God’s Wrath
15 This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, said to me: “Take from my hand this cup(AJ) filled with the wine of my wrath and make all the nations to whom I send(AK) you drink it. 16 When they drink(AL) it, they will stagger(AM) and go mad(AN) because of the sword(AO) I will send among them.”
17 So I took the cup from the Lord’s hand and made all the nations to whom he sent(AP) me drink it: 18 Jerusalem(AQ) and the towns of Judah, its kings and officials, to make them a ruin(AR) and an object of horror and scorn,(AS) a curse[c](AT)—as they are today;(AU) 19 Pharaoh king(AV) of Egypt,(AW) his attendants, his officials and all his people, 20 and all the foreign people there; all the kings of Uz;(AX) all the kings of the Philistines(AY) (those of Ashkelon,(AZ) Gaza,(BA) Ekron, and the people left at Ashdod); 21 Edom,(BB) Moab(BC) and Ammon;(BD) 22 all the kings of Tyre(BE) and Sidon;(BF) the kings of the coastlands(BG) across the sea; 23 Dedan,(BH) Tema,(BI) Buz(BJ) and all who are in distant places[d];(BK) 24 all the kings of Arabia(BL) and all the kings of the foreign people(BM) who live in the wilderness; 25 all the kings of Zimri,(BN) Elam(BO) and Media;(BP) 26 and all the kings of the north,(BQ) near and far, one after the other—all the kingdoms(BR) on the face of the earth. And after all of them, the king of Sheshak[e](BS) will drink it too.
27 “Then tell them, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Drink, get drunk(BT) and vomit, and fall to rise no more because of the sword(BU) I will send among you.’ 28 But if they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink(BV), tell them, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: You must drink it! 29 See, I am beginning to bring disaster(BW) on the city that bears my Name,(BX) and will you indeed go unpunished?(BY) You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword(BZ) on all(CA) who live on the earth,(CB) declares the Lord Almighty.’
30 “Now prophesy all these words against them and say to them:
“‘The Lord will roar(CC) from on high;
he will thunder(CD) from his holy dwelling(CE)
and roar mightily against his land.
He will shout like those who tread(CF) the grapes,
shout against all who live on the earth.
31 The tumult(CG) will resound to the ends of the earth,
for the Lord will bring charges(CH) against the nations;
he will bring judgment(CI) on all(CJ) mankind
and put the wicked to the sword,(CK)’”
declares the Lord.
32 This is what the Lord Almighty says:
“Look! Disaster(CL) is spreading
from nation to nation;(CM)
a mighty storm(CN) is rising
from the ends of the earth.”(CO)
33 At that time those slain(CP) by the Lord will be everywhere—from one end of the earth to the other. They will not be mourned or gathered(CQ) up or buried,(CR) but will be like dung lying on the ground.
34 Weep and wail, you shepherds;(CS)
roll(CT) in the dust, you leaders of the flock.
For your time to be slaughtered(CU) has come;
you will fall like the best of the rams.[f](CV)
35 The shepherds will have nowhere to flee,
the leaders of the flock no place to escape.(CW)
36 Hear the cry(CX) of the shepherds,(CY)
the wailing of the leaders of the flock,
for the Lord is destroying their pasture.
37 The peaceful meadows will be laid waste
because of the fierce anger of the Lord.
38 Like a lion(CZ) he will leave his lair,
and their land will become desolate(DA)
because of the sword[g] of the oppressor(DB)
and because of the Lord’s fierce anger.(DC)
