⁹ behold, I will ^(A)send and take all the families of the north,’ declares Yahweh, ‘and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, ^(B)My servant, and will bring them against this land and against its inhabitants and against all these surrounding nations; and I will ^[a]devote them to destruction and ^(C)make them an object of horror and of hissing and an everlasting waste place.

¹³ For I have ^(A)sworn by Myself,” declares Yahweh, “that ^(B)Bozrah will become an ^(C)object of horror, a reproach, a ruin, and an imprecation; and all its cities will become perpetual ^[a]ruins.”

²⁸ I will ^(A)make the land a desolation and a desecration, and the ^(B)lofty pride of her strength will cease; and the mountains of Israel will be desolate so that no one will pass through. ²⁹ Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I make the land a desolation and a desecration because of all their abominations which they have done.”’
