7 “Therefore, behold, (A)the days are coming,” says the Lord, “that they shall no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,’ 8 but, ‘As the Lord lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel from the north country (B)and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ And they shall dwell in their own (C)land.”
False Prophets and Empty Oracles
9 My heart within me is broken
Because of the prophets;
(D)All my bones shake.
I am like a drunken man,
And like a man whom wine has overcome,
Because of the Lord,
And because of His holy words.
10 For (E)the land is full of adulterers;
For (F)because of a curse the land mourns.
(G)The pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up.
Their course of life is evil,
And their might is not right.
11 “For (H)both prophet and priest are profane;
Yes, (I)in My house I have found their wickedness,” says the Lord.
12 “Therefore(J) their way shall be to them
Like slippery ways;
In the darkness they shall be driven on
And fall in them;
For I (K)will bring disaster on them,
The year of their punishment,” says the Lord.

7 “So then, the days are coming,”(A) declares the Lord, “when people will no longer say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,’(B) 8 but they will say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the descendants of Israel up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’ Then they will live in their own land.”(C)
Lying Prophets
9 Concerning the prophets:
My heart(D) is broken within me;
all my bones tremble.(E)
I am like a drunken man,
like a strong man overcome by wine,
because of the Lord
and his holy words.(F)
10 The land is full of adulterers;(G)
because of the curse[a](H) the land lies parched
and the pastures(I) in the wilderness are withered.(J)
The prophets follow an evil course
and use their power unjustly.
