You shall say: Listen to the word of the Lord, king of Judah, who sit on the throne of David, you, your ministers, and your people who enter by these gates!(A) Thus says the Lord: Do what is right and just. Rescue the victims from the hand of their oppressors. Do not wrong or oppress the resident alien, the orphan, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place.(B) If you carry out these commands, kings who succeed to the throne of David will continue to enter the gates of this house, riding in chariots or mounted on horses, with their ministers, and their people.

‘Hear(A) the word of the Lord to you, king of Judah, you who sit on David’s throne(B)—you, your officials and your people who come through these gates.(C) This is what the Lord says: Do what is just(D) and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor(E) the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow,(F) and do not shed innocent blood(G) in this place. For if you are careful to carry out these commands, then kings(H) who sit on David’s throne will come through the gates of this palace, riding in chariots and on horses, accompanied by their officials and their people.
