Jeremiah 2:33-35
Christian Standard Bible
33 How skillfully you pursue love;
you also teach evil women your ways.
34 Moreover, your skirts are stained
with the blood of the innocent poor.(A)
You did not catch them breaking and entering.(B)
But in spite of all these things
35 you claim, “I am innocent.(C)
His anger is sure to turn away from me.”
But I will certainly judge you
because you have said, “I have not sinned.”(D)
Jeremiah 2:33-35
New Living Translation
33 “How you plot and scheme to win your lovers.
Even an experienced prostitute could learn from you!
34 Your clothing is stained with the blood of the innocent and the poor,
though you didn’t catch them breaking into your houses!
35 And yet you say,
‘I have done nothing wrong.
Surely God isn’t angry with me!’
But now I will punish you severely
because you claim you have not sinned.
Jeremiah 2:33-35
New International Version
33 How skilled you are at pursuing(A) love!
Even the worst of women can learn from your ways.
34 On your clothes is found
the lifeblood(B) of the innocent poor,
though you did not catch them breaking in.(C)
Yet in spite of all this
35 you say, ‘I am innocent;(D)
he is not angry with me.’
But I will pass judgment(E) on you
because you say, ‘I have not sinned.’(F)
