¹² Though they fast, I will not hear their cry, ^(A)and though they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them ^(B)by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence.”

^4 (A)They shall die of deadly diseases. ^(B)They shall not be lamented, nor shall they be buried. ^(C)They shall be as dung on the surface of the ground. ^(D)They shall perish by the sword and by famine, ^(E)and their dead bodies shall be food for the birds of the air and for the beasts of the earth.

⁹ He who stays in this city shall die ^(A)by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence, but he who goes out and ^(B)surrenders to the Chaldeans who are besieging you shall live ^(C)and shall have his life as a prize of war.

¹¹ He shall come ^(A)and strike the land of Egypt, ^(B)giving over to the pestilence those who are doomed to the pestilence, to captivity those who are doomed to captivity, and to the sword those who are doomed to the sword.

^12 (A)A third part of you shall die of pestilence and be consumed with famine in your midst; ^(B)a third part shall fall by the sword all round you; ^(C)and a third part I will scatter to all the winds and will unsheathe the sword after them.
