⁷ For I earnestly exhorted your fathers in the day I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, until this day, ^(A)rising early and exhorting, saying, “Obey My voice.” ^8 (B)Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but ^(C)everyone ^[a]followed the dictates of his evil heart; therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but which they have not done.’ ”

¹³ And the Lord said, “Because they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have ^(A)not obeyed My voice, nor walked according to it, ¹⁴ but they have ^(B)walked according to the ^[a]dictates of their own hearts and after the Baals, ^(C)which their fathers taught them,”
