Jeremiah 1

1 ¶ The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:
2 To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.
3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.
4 ¶ Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the Gentiles.
6 Then I said, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I do not know how to speak: for I am a child.
7 But the LORD said unto me, Do not say, I am a child; for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8 Do not be afraid of their faces; for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
9 Then the LORD put forth his hand and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
10 See, I have placed thee in this day over Gentiles and over kingdoms, to root out, and to destroy, and to throw out, and to cast down, to build, and to plant.
11 ¶ Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.
12 Then the LORD said unto me, Thou hast seen well, for I will hasten my word to perform it.
13 And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and its face is toward the north.
14 Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
15 For, behold, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and each one shall set his seat at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem and near all its walls round about and near all the cities of Judah.
16 And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me and have burned incense unto other gods and worshipped the works of their own hands.
17 Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and thou shalt arise and speak unto them all that I shall command thee; do not fear them lest I confound thee before them.
18 For, behold, I have made thee this day as a defenced city and as an iron pillar and as a wall of brass upon all the earth against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land.
19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.

2 La parola del Signore gli fu rivolta al tempo di Giosia, figlio di Amon, re di Giuda, l’anno tredicesimo del suo regno, 3 e al tempo di Ieoiachim, figlio di Giosia, re di Giuda, sino alla fine dell’anno undicesimo di Sedechia, figlio di Giosia, re di Giuda, fino a quando Gerusalemme fu deportata, il che avvenne nel quinto mese.
4 La parola del Signore mi fu rivolta in questi termini: 5 «Prima che io ti avessi formato nel grembo di tua madre, io ti ho conosciuto; prima che tu uscissi dal suo grembo, io ti ho consacrato e ti ho costituito profeta delle nazioni». 6 Io risposi: «Ahimè, Signore, Dio, io non so parlare, perché non sono che un ragazzo». 7 Ma il Signore mi disse: «Non dire: “Sono un ragazzo”, perché tu andrai da tutti quelli ai quali ti manderò e dirai tutto quello che io ti comanderò. 8 Non li temere, perché io sono con te per liberarti», dice il Signore. 9 Poi il Signore stese la mano e mi toccò la bocca; e il Signore mi disse: «Ecco, io ho messo le mie parole nella tua bocca. 10 Vedi, io ti stabilisco oggi sulle nazioni e sopra i regni, per sradicare, per demolire, per abbattere, per distruggere, per costruire e per piantare».
11 (C)Poi la parola del Signore mi fu rivolta in questi termini: «Geremia, che cosa vedi?» Io risposi: «Vedo un ramo di mandorlo[a]». 12 E il Signore mi disse: «Hai visto bene, poiché io vigilo[b] sulla mia parola per mandarla a effetto».
13 La parola del Signore mi fu rivolta per la seconda volta: «Che cosa vedi?» Io risposi: «Vedo una gran pentola che bolle e ha la bocca rivolta dal settentrione in qua». 14 E il Signore mi disse: «Dal settentrione verrà fuori la calamità su tutti gli abitanti del paese. 15 Poiché, ecco, io sto per chiamare tutti i popoli dei regni del settentrione», dice il Signore; «essi verranno e porranno ognuno il suo trono all’ingresso delle porte di Gerusalemme, contro tutte le sue mura all’intorno e contro tutte le città di Giuda. 16 Pronuncerò i miei giudizi contro di loro[c] a causa di tutta la loro malvagità, perché mi hanno abbandonato e hanno offerto il loro incenso ad altri dèi e si sono prostrati davanti all’opera delle loro mani. 17 Tu, dunque, cingiti i fianchi, àlzati e di’ loro tutto quello che io ti comanderò. Non lasciarti sgomentare da loro, affinché io non ti renda sgomento in loro presenza. 18 Ecco, oggi io ti stabilisco come una città fortificata, come una colonna di ferro e come un muro di bronzo contro tutto il paese, contro i re di Giuda, contro i suoi prìncipi, contro i suoi sacerdoti e contro il popolo del paese. 19 Essi ti faranno la guerra, ma non ti vinceranno, perché io sono con te per liberarti», dice il Signore.

Jeremiás származása és elhívása
1 Ezek Jeremiásnak, Hilkijjá fiának beszédei, aki a Benjámin törzsi területén fekvő, Anatótban élő papok családjából származott.[a] 2 Jósiás, Ámón fia, Júda királya uralkodásának 13. évétől kezdve[b] szólt az Örökkévaló Jeremiáshoz. 3 Majd beszélt vele Jójákim, Jósiás fia, Júda királya idejében, továbbá egészen Cidkijjá, Jósiás fia, Júda királya uralkodásának 11. évéig, amikor az 5. hónapban Jeruzsálemet az ellenség lerombolta, és annak lakóit száműzetésbe hurcolta.
4 Az Örökkévaló megszólított:
5 „Mielőtt az anyaméhben megformáltalak,
már ismertelek téged.
Még meg sem születtél,
én már különválasztottalak magamnak,
hogy a nemzetek prófétája legyél.”
6 De én ezt válaszoltam: Jaj, Örökkévaló Úr Isten! Nem vagyok én járatos a nyilvános beszédben, még olyan fiatal vagyok!
7 Akkor az Örökkévaló ezt felelte:
„Ne mondd, hogy túl fiatal vagy,
csak menj, ahová küldelek,
és mondd el mindazt, amit parancsolok!
8 Ne félj azoktól, akikhez menned kell,
mert én vagyok veled,
hogy megmentselek a kezükből!”
— az Örökkévaló mondja ezt neked.
9 Majd az Örökkévaló kinyújtotta kezét, megérintette a számat, és ezt mondta:
„Saját szavaimat adtam most a szádba!
10 Ezáltal a mai napon felvigyázóvá teszlek,
nemzetek és királyságok fölé állítalak,
hogy gyökerestül kitépj, lerombolj, elpusztíts, szétszórj,
s hogy építs fel, és ültess el.”
11 Majd az Örökkévaló ezt kérdezte tőlem: „Jeremiás, mit látsz?”
Mandulafa ágát — feleltem.
12 „Helyes — mondta az Örökkévaló —, jól láttad, mert én éberen őrködöm[c] azon, hogy amit mondok, azt véghez is vigyem.”
13 Másodszor is megkérdezett az Örökkévaló: „Jeremiás, most mit látsz?”
Látok egy forrongó üstöt, amely észak felől éppen errefelé készül kiömleni — válaszoltam.
14 Akkor az Örökkévaló ezt mondta: „Igen, észak felől tör a veszedelem az ország egész népére. 15 Mert idehívom az északi királyságok összes nemzetségeit — mondja az Örökkévaló. — El is jönnek, királyaik felállítják trónjaikat Jeruzsálem falaival és kapuival szemben, és megostromolják a várost. Sőt, Júda összes többi városát is megostromolják.
16 Én pedig ítéletet mondok a városaitok fölött, minden gonoszságukért: mivel elhagytak engem, más isteneknek vittek illat-áldozatot, és saját kezük alkotásait imádták.
17 Jeremiás, készülj föl, indulj el, és hirdesd ki nekik mindazt, amit neked parancsolok! Meg ne rémülj tőlük, különben én rémítelek meg általuk!
18 Lásd, én ma fallal körülvett erős várrá, vasoszloppá és bronzfallá teszlek téged az egész országgal: Júda királyaival, fejedelmeivel, papjaival és egész népével szemben! 19 Bár harcolnak majd ellened, de nem tudnak legyőzni, mert én vagyok veled, és megmentelek” — mondja az Örökkévaló.

3 Así mismo fue en días de Joacim hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, hasta el fin del año undécimo de Sedequías hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, hasta la cautividad de Jerusalén en el mes quinto.
4 Vino, pues, palabra del SEÑOR a mí, diciendo:
5 Antes que te formaras en el vientre te conocí, y antes que salieras de la matriz te aparté, te di por profeta a los gentiles.
6 Y yo dije: ¡Ah! ¡ah! ¡Señor DIOS! He aquí, no sé hablar, porque soy niño.
7 Y me dijo el SEÑOR: No digas, soy niño; porque a todo lo que te enviare irás tú, y dirás todo lo que te mandare.
8 No temas delante de ellos, porque contigo estoy para librarte, dijo el SEÑOR.
9 Y extendió el SEÑOR su mano, y tocó sobre mi boca; y me dijo el SEÑOR: He aquí he puesto mis palabras en tu boca.
10 Mira que te he puesto en este día sobre gentiles y sobre reinos, para arrancar y para destruir, y para echar a perder y para derribar, y para edificar y para plantar.
11 Y la palabra del SEÑOR vino a mí, diciendo: ¿Qué ves tú, Jeremías? Y dije: Yo veo una vara de almendro.
12 Y me dijo el SEÑOR: Bien has visto; porque yo apresuro mi palabra para ponerla por obra.
13 Y vino a mí palabra del SEÑOR por segunda vez, diciendo: ¿Qué ves tú? Y dije: Yo veo una olla que hierve; y su faz está de la parte del aquilón.
14 Y me dijo el SEÑOR: Del aquilón se soltará el mal sobre todos los moradores de la tierra.
15 Porque he aquí que yo convoco todas las familias de los reinos del aquilón, dijo el SEÑOR; y vendrán, y pondrá cada uno su asiento a la entrada de las puertas de Jerusalén, y junto a todos sus muros en derredor, y en todas las ciudades de Judá.
16 Y hablaré con ellos mis juicios a causa de toda su malicia; que me dejaron, e incensaron a dioses extraños, y a hechuras de sus manos se encorvaron.
17 Tú, pues, ciñe tus lomos, y te levantarás, y les hablarás todo lo que te mandare; no temas delante de ellos, para que no te haga yo quebrantar delante de ellos.
18 Porque he aquí que yo te he puesto en este día como ciudad fortalecida, y como columna de hierro, y como muro de bronce sobre toda la tierra, contra los reyes de Judá, contra sus príncipes, contra sus sacerdotes, y contra el pueblo de la tierra.
19 Y pelearán contra ti, mas no te vencerán; porque yo estoy contigo, dice el SEÑOR, para librarte.
