Jeremia 6:23-25

23 De är beväpnade med båge och lans,
de är grymma och obarmhärtiga.
Det låter som havets dån
när de drar fram på sina hästar,
rustade för strid
mot dig, dotter Sion.”
24 Vi har hört ryktet om dem,
och vi står handfallna.
Vi grips av ångest
och våndas som en kvinna som ska föda barn.
25 Gå inte ut på de öppna fälten,
och gå inte ut på vägarna,
för där finns fiendens svärd
och skräck på alla håll.

23 They will lay hold on bow and spear;
They are cruel and have no mercy;
Their voice (A)roars like the sea;
And they ride on horses,
As men of war set in array against you, O daughter of Zion.”
24 We have heard the report of it;
Our hands grow feeble.
(B)Anguish has taken hold of us,
Pain as of a woman in [a]labor.
25 Do not go out into the field,
Nor walk by the way.
Because of the sword of the enemy,
Fear is on every side.
