14 Och hos Jerusalems profeter
har jag sett förskräckliga ting.
De begår äktenskapsbrott och ljuger,
de uppmuntrar dem som gör ont
så att ingen skall vända om från sin ondska.
De är alla för mig som Sodom
och stadens invånare som Gomorras.
15 Därför säger Herren Sebaot så om profeterna:
Jag skall ge dem malört att äta
och förgiftat vatten att dricka,
ty från profeterna i Jerusalem
har gudlöshet gått ut över hela landet.
16 Så säger Herren Sebaot:
Lyssna inte på orden från de profeter som profeterar för er,
ty de bedrar er.
Sina egna hjärtans syner talar de,
inte vad som kommer från Herrens mun.

14 Also I have seen a horrible thing in the prophets of Jerusalem:
(A)They commit adultery and walk in lies;
They also (B)strengthen the hands of evildoers,
So that no one turns back from his wickedness.
All of them are like (C)Sodom to Me,
And her inhabitants like Gomorrah.
15 “Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets:
‘Behold, I will feed them with (D)wormwood,
And make them drink the water of gall;
For from the prophets of Jerusalem
[a]Profaneness has gone out into all the land.’ ”
16 Thus says the Lord of hosts:
“Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you.
They make you worthless;
(E)They speak a vision of their own heart,
Not from the mouth of the Lord.

(F)and give them (G)poisoned water to drink,
for from the prophets of Jerusalem
ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”
16 Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, (H)filling you with vain hopes. (I)They speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord.

“I will make them eat bitter food
and drink poisoned water,(G)
because from the prophets of Jerusalem
ungodliness(H) has spread throughout the land.”
16 This is what the Lord Almighty says:
