45 ¶ Yon lè, antan Bawouk, pitit Nerija a, t'ap kouche sou papye mesaj pwofèt Jeremi t'ap repete pou li yo, Jeremi ba li yon mesaj pou li menm menm. Lè sa a, Jojakim, pitit Jozyas, te sou katriyèm lanne depi li te wa nan peyi Jida. Jeremi di Bawouk konsa:
2 -Seyè a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, bay yon mesaj sou ou, Bawouk.
3 Ou te di: Ala devenn pou mwen! Seyè a mete lafliksyon sou traka m' te genyen deja. Mwen bouke plenn, mwen pa jwenn yon ti soulajman menm!
4 Enben, men mesaj Seyè a ban mwen pou ou: Se mwen menm Seyè k'ap demoli tou sa mwen te bati. m'ap derasinen tou sa mwen te plante. M'ap fè sa toupatou sou latè!
5 Epi ou menm, w'ap mande pou yo fè pa ou, w'ap mande yon soulajman pou tèt ou ase? Pa mande anyen. M'ap voye malè a sou tout moun sou latè. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa. Men ou menm, ou mèt ale kote ou vle, ou p'ap mouri, w'ap sove lavi ou!

A Message to Baruch
45 When Baruch(A) son of Neriah(B) wrote on a scroll(C) the words Jeremiah the prophet dictated in the fourth year of Jehoiakim(D) son of Josiah king of Judah, Jeremiah said this to Baruch: 2 “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to you, Baruch: 3 You said, ‘Woe(E) to me! The Lord has added sorrow(F) to my pain;(G) I am worn out with groaning(H) and find no rest.’(I) 4 But the Lord has told me to say to you, ‘This is what the Lord says: I will overthrow what I have built and uproot(J) what I have planted,(K) throughout the earth.(L) 5 Should you then seek great(M) things for yourself? Do not seek them.(N) For I will bring disaster(O) on all people,(P) declares the Lord, but wherever you go I will let you escape(Q) with your life.’”(R)
