Jeremiah 50:17-19

New King James Version

¹⁷“Israel is like ^(A)scattered sheep;
^(B)The lions have driven him away.
First ^(C)the king of Assyria devoured him;
Now at last this ^(D)Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.”

¹⁸Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:

“Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land,
As I have punished the king of ^(E)Assyria.
¹⁹^(F)But I will bring back Israel to his home,
And he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan;
His soul shall be satisfied on Mount Ephraim and Gilead.

The first one who devoured him was the ^(C)king of Assyria, and this last one who has gnawed his bones is ^(D)Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. ¹⁸Therefore this is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says: ‘Behold, I am going to punish the king of Babylon and his land, just as I ^(E)punished the king of Assyria. ¹⁹And I will ^(F)bring Israel back to his pasture and he will graze on Carmel and Bashan, and his ^[b]desire will be satisfied in the ^(G)hill country of Ephraim and Gilead.
