7 ¡A lo mejor su súplica llega a la presencia del Señor y cada uno se convierte de su mal camino! ¡Ciertamente son terribles la ira y el furor con que el Señor ha amenazado a este pueblo!».
8 Baruc, hijo de Nerías, hizo tal y como había ordenado el profeta Jeremías: Leyó en el Templo del Señor las palabras escritas en el rollo. 9 En el mes noveno del año quinto de Joacim, hijo de Josías y rey de Judá, todo el pueblo de Jerusalén y todos los que habían venido de las otras ciudades de Judá fueron convocados a ayunar delante del Señor.

7 Perhaps they will bring their petition(A) before the Lord and will each turn(B) from their wicked ways, for the anger(C) and wrath pronounced against this people by the Lord are great.”
8 Baruch son of Neriah did everything Jeremiah the prophet told him to do; at the Lord’s temple he read the words of the Lord from the scroll. 9 In the ninth month(D) of the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, a time of fasting(E) before the Lord was proclaimed for all the people in Jerusalem and those who had come from the towns of Judah.

7 It may be they will present their supplication before the Lord, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the Lord hath pronounced against this people.
8 And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of the Lord in the Lord's house.
9 And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the Lord to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem.
