16 This is what the Lord Almighty says:

“Do not listen(A) to what the prophets are prophesying to you;
    they fill you with false hopes.
They speak visions(B) from their own minds,
    not from the mouth(C) of the Lord.
17 They keep saying(D) to those who despise me,
    ‘The Lord says: You will have peace.’(E)
And to all who follow the stubbornness(F) of their hearts
    they say, ‘No harm(G) will come to you.’
18 But which of them has stood in the council(H) of the Lord
    to see or to hear his word?
    Who has listened and heard his word?

16 Así dice el Señor de los ejércitos:

No escuchéis las palabras de los profetas que os profetizan(A).
Ellos os conducen hacia lo vano(B);
os cuentan[a] la visión de su propia fantasía[b](C),
no de la boca del Señor(D).
17 Dicen de continuo a los que me desprecian(E):
«El Señor ha dicho: “Tendréis paz(F)”»;
y a todo el que anda en la terquedad de su corazón(G)
dicen: «No vendrá calamidad sobre vosotros(H)».

y vio y oyó su palabra(I)?
¿Quién ha prestado atención a su[c] palabra y la ha escuchado(J)?

18 For (F)who among them has stood in the council of the Lord
    to see and to hear his word,
    or who has paid attention to his word and listened?

16 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord.

17 They say still unto them that despise me, The Lord hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

18 For who hath stood in the counsel of the Lord, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?
