Jeremiah 39:7

New English Translation

⁷Then he had Zedekiah’s eyes put out and had him bound in chains^[a] to be led off to Babylon.

Jeremiah 39:7 tn Heb “fetters of bronze.” The more generic “chains” is used in the translation because “fetters” is a word unfamiliar to most modern readers.

⁷Then he put out Zedekiah’s eyes^(A) and bound him with bronze shackles to take him to Babylon.^(B)

⁷Moreover he put out Zedekiah's eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon.
