Jeremiah 16:9
New English Translation

9 For I, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, tell you what will happen.[a] I will put an end to the sounds of joy and gladness, to the glad celebration of brides and grooms in this land. You and the rest of the people will live to see this happen.’[b]

I will certainly put an end to the sounds of joy and happiness in this place,
as well as the voices of bride and groom.
This will take place before your eyes and in your lifetime.
