⁵ For if you truly amend your ways and your doings, if you truly act justly one with another,^(A)

³ Thus says the Lord: Act with justice and righteousness and deliver from the hand of the oppressor anyone who has been robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the alien, the orphan, and the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place.^(A)

³ Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Amend your ways and your doings, and let me dwell with you^[a] in this place.

¹² “Concerning this house that you are building, if you will walk in my statutes, obey my ordinances, and keep all my commandments by walking in them, then I will establish my promise with you that I made to your father David.^{(A) 13} I will dwell among the Israelites and will not forsake my people Israel.”^(B)

¹⁷ withholds his hand from iniquity,^[a] takes no advance or accrued interest, observes my ordinances, and follows my statutes, he shall not die for his father’s iniquity; he shall surely live.

⁸ does not take advance or accrued interest, withholds his hand from iniquity, executes true justice between contending parties,^(A)

¹² And they found among the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead four hundred young virgins who had never slept with a man and brought them to the camp at Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan.
