³⁴ I will bring an end to the sounds^(A) of joy and gladness and to the voices of bride and bridegroom^(B) in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem,^(C) for the land will become desolate.^(D)

¹³ I will put an end^(A) to your noisy songs,^(B) and the music of your harps^(C) will be heard no more.^(D)

¹⁰ I will banish from them the sounds^(A) of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom,^(B) the sound of millstones^(C) and the light of the lamp.^(D)

⁹ For this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Before your eyes and in your days I will bring an end to the sounds^(A) of joy and gladness and to the voices of bride^(B) and bridegroom in this place.^(C)

³³ I will scatter^(A) you among the nations^(B) and will draw out my sword^(C) and pursue you. Your land will be laid waste,^(D) and your cities will lie in ruins.^(E)
