³² So beware, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when people will no longer call it Topheth or the Valley of Ben Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter,^(A) for they will bury^(B) the dead in Topheth until there is no more room.

¹¹ and say to them, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: I will smash^(A) this nation and this city just as this potter’s jar is smashed and cannot be repaired. They will bury^(B) the dead in Topheth until there is no more room.

⁶ So beware, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when people will no longer call this place Topheth^(A) or the Valley of Ben Hinnom,^(B) but the Valley of Slaughter.^(C)

¹⁰ He desecrated Topheth,^(A) which was in the Valley of Ben Hinnom,^(B) so no one could use it to sacrifice their son^(C) or daughter in the fire to Molek.

⁵ I will lay the dead bodies of the Israelites in front of their idols, and I will scatter your bones^(A) around your altars.^{(B) 6} Wherever you live,^(C) the towns will be laid waste and the high places^(D) demolished, so that your altars will be laid waste and devastated, your idols^(E) smashed and ruined, your incense altars^(F) broken down, and what you have made wiped out.^{(G) 7} Your people will fall slain^(H) among you, and you will know that I am the Lord.^(I)

¹³ The houses^(A) in Jerusalem and those of the kings of Judah will be defiled^(B) like this place, Topheth—all the houses where they burned incense on the roofs^(C) to all the starry hosts^(D) and poured out drink offerings^(E) to other gods.’”

³¹ They have built the high places of Topheth^(A) in the Valley of Ben Hinnom^(B) to burn their sons and daughters^(C) in the fire—something I did not command, nor did it enter my mind.^(D)

³⁰ I will destroy your high places,^(A) cut down your incense altars^(B) and pile your dead bodies^[a] on the lifeless forms of your idols,^(C) and I will abhor^(D) you.
