¹⁶ “Therefore ^(A)do not pray for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them, nor make intercession to Me; ^(B)for I will not hear you.

¹⁴ “So ^(A)do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time that they cry out to Me because of their trouble.

The Lord Will Not Relent

15 Then the Lord said to me, ^(A)“Even if ^(B)Moses and ^(C)Samuel stood before Me, My ^[a]mind would not be favorable toward this people. Cast them out of My sight, and let them go forth.

¹¹ Then the Lord said to me, ^(A)“Do not pray for this people, for their good. ^12 (B)When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and ^(C)when they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. But ^(D)I will consume them by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.”

¹⁰ Now therefore, ^(A)let Me alone, that ^(B)My wrath may burn hot against them and I may ^[a]consume them. And ^(C)I will make of you a great nation.”

^14 (A)Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver only themselves ^(B)by their righteousness,” says the Lord God.

¹⁵ “If I cause ^(C)wild beasts to pass through the land, and they ^[a]empty it, and make it so desolate that no man may pass through because of the beasts, ¹⁶ even ^(D)though these three men were ^[b]in it, as I live,” says the Lord God, “they would deliver neither sons nor daughters; only they would be delivered, and the land would be ^(E)desolate.

¹⁷ “Or if ^(F)I bring a sword on that land, and say, ‘Sword, go through the land,’ and I ^(G)cut off man and beast from it, ¹⁸ even ^(H)though these three men were in it, as I live,” says the Lord God, “they would deliver neither sons nor daughters, but only they themselves would be delivered.

¹⁹ “Or if I send ^(I)a pestilence into that land and ^(J)pour out My fury on it in blood, and cut off from it man and beast, ²⁰ even ^(K)though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live,” says the Lord God, “they would deliver neither son nor daughter; they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness.”

¹⁶ If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and ^(A)He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. ^(B)There is sin leading to death. ^(C)I do not say that he should pray about that.
