¹⁹ Hear, you earth:^(A)
    I am bringing disaster^(B) on this people,
    the fruit of their schemes,^(C)
because they have not listened to my words^(D)
    and have rejected my law.^(E)

¹⁰ “I the Lord search the heart^(A)
    and examine the mind,^(B)
to reward^(C) each person according to their conduct,
    according to what their deeds deserve.”^(D)

⁹ The wise^(A) will be put to shame;
    they will be dismayed^(B) and trapped.^(C)
Since they have rejected the word^(D) of the Lord,
    what kind of wisdom^(E) do they have?

² “Hear,^(A) you mountains, the Lord’s accusation;^(B)
    listen, you everlasting foundations of the earth.
For the Lord has a case^(C) against his people;
    he is lodging a charge^(D) against Israel.

¹³ But you have planted wickedness,
    you have reaped evil,^(A)
    you have eaten the fruit of deception.^(B)
Because you have depended on your own strength
    and on your many warriors,^(C)
