⁴ They shall fall down slain in the land of the Chaldeans
    and wounded in her streets.

²⁶ Therefore her young men shall fall in her squares,
    and all her soldiers shall be destroyed on that day,
            says the Lord of hosts.^(A)

¹⁵ Whoever is found will be thrust through,
    and whoever is caught will fall by the sword.

³⁷ A sword against her^[a] horses and against her^[b] chariots
    and against all the foreign troops in her midst,
    so that they may become women!
A sword against her treasures,
    that they may be plundered!^(A)

¹⁹ but you are cast out, away from your grave,
    like loathsome carrion,^[a]
clothed with the dead, those pierced by the sword,
    who go down to the stones of the Pit
    like a corpse trampled underfoot.^(A)
