²⁰ You are my war club, my weapon of battle:
with you I smash nations;
    with you I destroy kingdoms;^(A)

¹⁵ I will make of you a threshing sledge,
    sharp, new, and having teeth;
you shall thresh the mountains and crush them,
    and you shall make the hills like chaff.^(A)
16 You shall winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away,
    and the tempest shall scatter them.
Then you shall rejoice in the Lord;
    in the Holy One of Israel you shall glory.^(B)

¹³ Arise and thresh,
    O daughter Zion,
for I will make your horn iron
    and your hoofs bronze;
you shall beat in pieces many peoples
    and shall^[a] devote their gain to the Lord,
    their wealth to the Lord of the whole earth.^(A)

⁵ The Lord has broken the staff of the wicked,
    the scepter of rulers,
⁶ that struck down the peoples in wrath
    with unceasing blows,
that ruled the nations in anger
    with unrelenting persecution.^(A)

⁵ Woe to Assyria, the rod of my anger—
    the club in their hands is my fury!^(A)

¹³ For I have bent Judah as my bow;
    I have made Ephraim its arrow.^[a]
I will arouse your sons, O Zion,
    against your sons, O Greece,
    and wield you like a warrior’s sword.^(A)
