¹⁹ And I said to the angel who talked with me, “What are these?”

So he answered me, ^(A)“These are the ^[a]horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”

²⁰ Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen. ²¹ And I said, “What are these coming to do?”

So he said, “These are the ^(B)horns that scattered Judah, so that no one could lift up his head; but ^[b]the craftsmen are coming to terrify them, to cast out the horns of the nations that ^(C)lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.”

²¹ And the ^[a]male goat is the ^[b]kingdom of Greece. The large horn that is between its eyes ^(A)is the first king.

⁷ And I saw him confronting the ram; he was moved with rage against him, ^[a]attacked the ram, and broke his two horns. There was no power in the ram to withstand him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled him; and there was no one that could deliver the ram from his hand.

⁸ Therefore the male goat grew very great; but when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in place of it ^(A)four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven. ^9 (B)And out of one of them came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, ^(C)toward the east, and toward the ^(D)Glorious Land.

⁸ I was considering the horns, and ^(A)there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes ^(B)of a man, ^(C)and a mouth speaking ^[a]pompous words.

²¹ “Son of man, I have ^(A)broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and see, ^(B)it has not been bandaged for healing, nor a ^[a]splint put on to bind it, to make it strong enough to hold a sword. ²² Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Surely I am ^(C)against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will ^(D)break his arms, both the strong one and the one that was broken; and I will make the sword fall out of his hand. ^23 (E)I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them throughout the countries. ²⁴ I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put My sword in his hand; but I will break Pharaoh’s arms, and he will groan before him with the groanings of a mortally wounded man. ²⁵ Thus I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; ^(F)they shall know that I am the Lord, when I put My sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he stretches it out against the land of Egypt.
