³ By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction ^[a]does not slumber.

^28 (A)Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “None of My words will be postponed any more, but the word which I speak ^(B)will be done,” says the Lord God.’ ”

²³ Tell them therefore, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “I will lay this proverb to rest, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel.” ’ But say to them, ‘ ^(A)“The days are at hand, and the ^[a]fulfillment of every vision.

¹² Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ^[a]ready to perform My word.”

¹³ This is the word which the Lord has spoken concerning Moab since that time. ¹⁴ But now the Lord has spoken, saying, “Within three years, ^(A)as the years of a hired man, the glory of Moab will be despised with all that great multitude, and the remnant will be very small and feeble.”
