⁷ “Now therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘Why do you commit this great evil ^(A)against yourselves, to cut off from you man and woman, child and infant, out of Judah, leaving none to remain,

³⁸ The censers of ^(A)these men who sinned ^[a]against their own souls, let them be made into hammered plates as a covering for the altar. Because they presented them before the Lord, therefore they are holy; ^(B)and they shall be a sign to the children of Israel.”

¹¹ Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, ^(A)‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked ^(B)turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For ^(C)why should you die, O house of Israel?’

¹⁴ so that none of the remnant of Judah who have gone into the land of Egypt to dwell there shall escape or survive, lest they return to the land of Judah, to which they ^(A)desire^[a] to return and dwell. For ^(B)none shall return except those who escape.’ ”
