^13 (A)For I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence,

²⁷ Behold, I will watch over them for adversity and not for good. And all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt ^(A)shall be consumed by the sword and by famine, until there is an end to them. ²⁸ Yet ^(B)a small number who escape the sword shall return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah; and all the remnant of Judah, who have gone to the land of Egypt to dwell there, shall know whose words will stand, Mine or theirs.

^11 (A)When he comes, he shall strike the land of Egypt and deliver to death ^(B)those appointed for death, and to captivity those appointed for captivity, and to the sword those appointed for the sword.

²² therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Behold, I will punish them. The young men shall die by the sword, their sons and their daughters shall ^(A)die by famine;

¹⁸ “For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘As My anger and My fury have been ^(A)poured out on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so will My fury be poured out on you when you enter Egypt. And ^(B)you shall be an oath, an astonishment, a curse, and a reproach; and you shall see this place no more.’

¹⁰ And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence among them, till they are ^[a]consumed from the land that I gave to them and their fathers.’ ”

⁹ He who ^(A)remains in this city shall die by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence; but he who goes out and ^[a]defects to the Chaldeans who besiege you, he shall ^(B)live, and his life shall be as a prize to him.
