²² So now, be sure of this: You will die by the sword, famine^(A) and plague^(B) in the place where you want to go to settle.”^(C)

¹⁷ Indeed, all who are determined to go to Egypt to settle there will die by the sword, famine and plague;^(A) not one of them will survive or escape the disaster I will bring on them.’

¹¹ “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Strike your hands together and stamp your feet and cry out “Alas!” because of all the wicked and detestable practices of the people of Israel, for they will fall by the sword, famine and plague.^(A)

¹¹ He will come and attack Egypt,^(A) bringing death^(B) to those destined^(C) for death, captivity to those destined for captivity,^(D) and the sword to those destined for the sword.^(E)

³ But take a few hairs and tuck them away in the folds of your garment.^{(A) 4} Again, take a few of these and throw them into the fire^(B) and burn them up. A fire will spread from there to all Israel.
