¹⁹ They will fight against you but will not overcome^(A) you, for I am with you^(B) and will rescue^(C) you,” declares the Lord.

¹⁴ David said to Gad, “I am in deep distress. Let us fall into the hands of the Lord, for his mercy^(A) is great; but do not let me fall into human hands.”

⁹ “My lord the king, these men have acted wickedly in all they have done to Jeremiah the prophet. They have thrown him into a cistern,^(A) where he will starve to death when there is no longer any bread^(B) in the city.”
