^15 (A)I will strike ^(B)the winter house along with ^(C)the summer house,
    and ^(D)the houses of ivory shall perish,
and the great houses^[a] shall come to an end,”
declares the Lord.

¹⁴ who says, ‘I will build myself a great house
    with spacious upper rooms,’
who cuts out windows for it,
    paneling it with cedar
    and ^(A)painting it with vermilion.
¹⁵ Do you think you are a king
    because you compete in cedar?
Did not your father eat and drink
    and ^(B)do justice and righteousness?
    ^(C)Then it was well with him.
^16 (D)He judged the cause of the poor and needy;

    declares the Lord.

^20 (A)Surely, as a treacherous wife leaves her husband,
    so have you been treacherous to me, O house of Israel,
