²² As ^(A)the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I ^(B)multiply the descendants of David My servant and the ^(C)Levites who minister to Me.’ ”

¹⁷ blessing I will ^(A)bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants ^(B)as the stars of the heaven ^(C)and as the sand which is on the seashore; and ^(D)your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.

⁵ Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and ^(A)count the ^(B)stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, ^(C)“So shall your ^(D)descendants be.”

¹² Therefore from one man, and him as good as ^(A)dead, were born as many as the ^(B)stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.

^24 (A)“David My servant shall be king over them, and ^(B)they shall all have one shepherd; ^(C)they shall also walk in My judgments and observe My statutes, and do them. ^25 (D)Then they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, where your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell there, they, their children, and their children’s children, ^(E)forever; and ^(F)My servant David shall be their prince forever. ²⁶ Moreover I will ^[a]make ^(G)a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and ^(H)multiply them, and I will set My ^(I)sanctuary in their midst forevermore. ^27 (J)My tabernacle also shall be with them; indeed I will be ^(K)their God, and they shall be My people.

³⁷ Thus says the Lord:

²¹ And I will also take some of them for ^(A)priests and Levites,” says the Lord.

A Multitude from the Great Tribulation

⁹ After these things I looked, and behold, ^(A)a great multitude which no one could number, ^(B)of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, ^(C)clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, ¹⁰ and crying out with a loud voice, saying, ^(D)“Salvation belongs to our God ^(E)who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

⁸ In that day the Lord will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the Lord before them.
