³⁵ And they built the high places of Baal which are in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to ^(A)cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire to ^(B)Molech, ^(C)which I did not command them, nor did it come into My mind that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.’

³¹ And they have built the ^(A)high places of Tophet, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to ^(B)burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, ^(C)which I did not command, nor did it come into My heart.

²¹ And you shall not let any of your descendants ^(A)pass through ^(B)the fire to ^(C)Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God: I am the Lord.

^6 (A)Also he caused his sons to pass through the fire in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom; he practiced ^(B)soothsaying, used witchcraft and sorcery, and ^(C)consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.

^5 (A)(they have also built the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings to Baal, ^(B)which I did not command or speak, nor did it come into My mind), ⁶ therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “that this place shall no more be called Tophet or ^(C)the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter.

² For he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made ^(A)molded images for ^(B)the Baals. ³ He burned incense in ^(C)the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, and burned ^(D)his children in the ^(E)fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord had ^(F)cast out before the children of Israel.

¹⁰ And he defiled ^(A)Topheth, which is in ^(B)the Valley of the ^[a]Son of Hinnom, ^(C)that no man might make his son or his daughter ^(D)pass through the fire to Molech.

¹⁹ because of the sins which he had committed in doing evil in the sight of the Lord, ^(A)in walking in the ^(B)way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he had committed to make Israel sin.

^2 (A)“Again, you shall say to the children of Israel: ^(B)‘Whoever of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who ^[a]dwell in Israel, who gives any of his descendants to Molech, he shall surely be put to death. The people of the land shall ^(C)stone him with stones. ^3 (D)I will set My face against that man, and will ^[b]cut him off from his people, because he has given some of his descendants to Molech, to defile My sanctuary and profane My holy name. ⁴ And if the people of the land should in any way ^[c]hide their eyes from the man, when he gives some of his descendants to Molech, and they do not kill him, ⁵ then I will set My face against that man and against his family; and I will cut him off from his people, and all who prostitute themselves with him to commit harlotry with Molech.
