²³ At that time I will plant a crop of Israelites
    and raise them for myself.
I will show love
    to those I called ‘Not loved.’^[a]
And to those I called ‘Not my people,’^[b]
    I will say, ‘Now you are my people.’
And they will reply, ‘You are our God!’”

⁹ Though I have scattered them like seeds among the nations,
    they will still remember me in distant lands.
They and their children will survive
    and return again to Israel.

¹⁹ There will be joy and songs of thanksgiving,
    and I will multiply my people, not diminish them;
I will honor them, not despise them.
