Jeremiah 31:21-40
English Standard Version
21 (A)“Set up road markers for yourself;
make yourself guideposts;
(B)consider well the highway,
(C)the road by which you went.
Return, O virgin Israel,
return to these your cities.
22 (D)How long will you waver,
(E)O faithless daughter?
For the Lord has created a new thing on the earth:
a woman encircles a man.”
23 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Once more they shall use these words in the land of Judah and in its cities, (F)when I restore their fortunes:
24 (J)And Judah and all its cities shall dwell there together, and (K)the farmers and those who wander with their flocks. 25 For I will (L)satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.”
26 At this I awoke and looked, and my sleep was pleasant to me.
27 (M)“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when (N)I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with (O)the seed of man and the seed of beast. 28 And it shall come to pass that (P)as I have watched over them (Q)to pluck up and break down, to overthrow, destroy, and bring harm, (R)so I will watch over them (S)to build and to plant, declares the Lord. 29 In those days they shall no longer say:
(T)“‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,
and the children's teeth are set on edge.’
30 (U)But everyone shall die for his own iniquity. Each man who eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.
The New Covenant
31 (V)“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make (W)a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when (X)I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, (Y)though I was their husband, declares the Lord. 33 (Z)For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: (AA)I will put my law within them, and I will write it (AB)on their hearts. (AC)And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ (AD)for they shall all know me, (AE)from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For (AF)I will forgive their iniquity, and (AG)I will remember their sin no more.”
35 Thus says the Lord,
who (AH)gives the sun for light by day
and (AI)the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night,
who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar—
(AJ)the Lord of hosts is his name:
36 (AK)“If this fixed order departs
from before me, declares the Lord,
then shall the offspring of Israel cease
from being a nation before me forever.”
37 Thus says the Lord:
“If the heavens above can be measured,
and the foundations of the earth below can be explored,
(AL)then I will cast off all the offspring of Israel
for all that they have done,
declares the Lord.”
38 (AM)“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when the city shall be rebuilt for the Lord (AN)from the Tower of Hananel to (AO)the Corner Gate. 39 (AP)And the measuring line shall go out farther, straight to the hill Gareb, and shall then turn to Goah. 40 (AQ)The whole valley of the dead bodies and the ashes, and all the fields as far as the (AR)brook Kidron, to the corner of (AS)the Horse Gate toward the east, (AT)shall be sacred to the Lord. (AU)It shall not be plucked up or overthrown anymore forever.”

English Standard Version
Kaph
81 My soul (A)longs for your salvation;
I (B)hope in your word.
82 My (C)eyes long for your promise;
I ask, (D)“When will you comfort me?”
83 For I have (E)become like a (F)wineskin in the smoke,
yet I have not forgotten your statutes.
84 (G)How long must your servant endure?[a]
(H)When will you judge those who persecute me?
85 (I)The insolent have (J)dug pitfalls for me;
they do not live according to your law.
86 All your commandments are (K)sure;
they persecute me (L)with falsehood; (M)help me!
87 They have almost made an end of me on earth,
but I have not forsaken your precepts.
88 In your steadfast love (N)give me life,
that I may keep the testimonies of your mouth.

Preach the Word
4 (A)I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, (B)who is to judge the living and the dead, and by (C)his appearing and his kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; (D)reprove, rebuke, and (E)exhort, with complete patience and teaching. 3 (F)For the time is coming when people will not endure (G)sound[a] teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and (H)will turn away from listening to the truth and (I)wander off into myths. 5 As for you, (J)always be sober-minded, (K)endure suffering, do the work of (L)an evangelist, (M)fulfill your ministry.
6 For (N)I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my (O)departure has come. 7 (P)I have fought the good fight, (Q)I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Henceforth there is (R)laid up for me (S)the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, (T)the righteous judge, will award to me on (U)that day, and not only to me but also to all (V)who have loved his appearing.
