Ezekiel 13:5-16
New International Version
5 You have not gone up to the breaches in the wall to repair(A) it for the people of Israel so that it will stand firm in the battle on the day of the Lord.(B) 6 Their visions are false(C) and their divinations a lie. Even though the Lord has not sent(D) them, they say, “The Lord declares,” and expect him to fulfill their words.(E) 7 Have you not seen false visions(F) and uttered lying divinations when you say, “The Lord declares,” though I have not spoken?
8 “‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because of your false words and lying visions, I am against you,(G) declares the Sovereign Lord. 9 My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying(H) divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records(I) of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign Lord.(J)
10 “‘Because they lead my people astray,(K) saying, “Peace,”(L) when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash,(M) 11 therefore tell those who cover it with whitewash that it is going to fall. Rain will come in torrents, and I will send hailstones(N) hurtling down,(O) and violent winds will burst forth.(P) 12 When the wall collapses, will people not ask you, “Where is the whitewash you covered it with?”
13 “‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: In my wrath I will unleash a violent wind, and in my anger hailstones(Q) and torrents of rain(R) will fall with destructive fury.(S) 14 I will tear down the wall(T) you have covered with whitewash and will level it to the ground so that its foundation(U) will be laid bare. When it[a] falls,(V) you will be destroyed in it; and you will know that I am the Lord. 15 So I will pour out my wrath against the wall and against those who covered it with whitewash. I will say to you, “The wall is gone and so are those who whitewashed it, 16 those prophets of Israel who prophesied to Jerusalem and saw visions of peace for her when there was no peace, declares the Sovereign Lord.(W)”’

New International Version
2 This is what the Lord said to me: “Make a yoke(A) out of straps and crossbars and put it on your neck. 3 Then send(B) word to the kings of Edom, Moab, Ammon,(C) Tyre and Sidon(D) through the envoys who have come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah. 4 Give them a message for their masters and say, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Tell this to your masters: 5 With my great power and outstretched arm(E) I made(F) the earth and its people and the animals(G) that are on it, and I give(H) it to anyone I please. 6 Now I will give all your countries into the hands of my servant(I) Nebuchadnezzar(J) king of Babylon; I will make even the wild animals subject to him.(K) 7 All nations will serve(L) him and his son and his grandson until the time(M) for his land comes; then many nations and great kings will subjugate(N) him.
8 “‘“If, however, any nation or kingdom will not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon or bow its neck under his yoke, I will punish(O) that nation with the sword,(P) famine(Q) and plague,(R) declares the Lord, until I destroy it by his hand. 9 So do not listen to your prophets,(S) your diviners,(T) your interpreters of dreams,(U) your mediums(V) or your sorcerers(W) who tell you, ‘You will not serve(X) the king of Babylon.’ 10 They prophesy lies(Y) to you that will only serve to remove(Z) you far from your lands; I will banish you and you will perish. 11 But if any nation will bow its neck under the yoke(AA) of the king of Babylon and serve him, I will let that nation remain in its own land to till it and to live(AB) there, declares the Lord.”’”
12 I gave the same message to Zedekiah king of Judah. I said, “Bow your neck under the yoke(AC) of the king of Babylon; serve him and his people, and you will live.(AD)
