¹⁶ Also I spoke to the priests and to all this people, saying, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Do not listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying, “Behold, ^(A)the vessels of the Lord’s house will now shortly be brought back from Babylon”; for they prophesy a lie to you.

^3 (A)Within two full years I will bring back to this place all the vessels of the Lord’s house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon ^(B)took away from this place and carried to Babylon.

The Captivity of Jerusalem

^13 (A)And he carried out from there all the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house, and he ^(B)cut in pieces all the articles of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the Lord, ^(C)as the Lord had said.

² And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with ^(A)some of the articles of ^[a]the house of God, which he carried ^(B)into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; ^(C)and he brought the articles into the treasure house of his god.

¹⁰ For they prophesy a ^(A)lie to you, to remove you far from your land; and I will drive you out, and you will perish.

¹⁴ Therefore ^(A)do not listen to the words of the prophets who speak to you, saying, ‘You shall not serve the king of Babylon,’ for they prophesy ^(B)a lie to you;

^7 (A)Nebuchadnezzar also carried off some of the articles from the house of the Lord to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon. ⁸ Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, the abominations which he did, and what was found against him, indeed they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. Then ^[a]Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.

The Reign and Captivity of Jehoiachin^(B)

^9 (C)Jehoiachin was ^[b]eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months and ten days. And he did evil in the sight of the Lord. ¹⁰ At the turn of the year ^(D)King Nebuchadnezzar summoned him and took him to Babylon, ^(E)with the costly articles from the house of the Lord, and made ^(F)Zedekiah,^{[c] [d]}Jehoiakim’s brother, king over Judah and Jerusalem.
